Memoirs

Memoirs, as someone put it, are slices of life. They're just a small but significant portion of the whole story. And that's what this is -- snippets of my story.

If Bush wins, the world will NOT explode!

Hehehe -- so, last night, all my super-liberal coworkers were flipping out because Bush was ahead by a few votes all the time. They were all like, "This is depressing! Bush is going to win!" Sally said that the apocalypse is just around the corner because Bush was ahead. It got to be 12:45 and I was like, "b'bye I'm going home" and so I said, "You all have a nice night." Sally flipped out and mumbled something about apocalypse and I said, "Everyone, relax! The world will NOT explode, no matter who wins." Sally said, "But the apocalyse is coming!" Aw, well. As long as the world doesn't explode, then we're all good.

Too bad that a barrel of oil went over $50 this morning . . .

Anyway, I fail to see why it is so important for Kerry to win. I mean, as time goes by, the nation will shift toward the liberal side. Maybe not this time, but eventually, I can see this great (at this time) nation suffering under liberal oppression. We will have brought it on ourselves. I don't understand why we want to do that to ourselves. Marty Seifert once said, "The most important issue is LIFE -- without it, there are no other rights." If a person who is not dedicated to upholding the sanctity of human life wins the presidency, all of our other rights are overlooked as well. When there is no life, there is no REASON for other rights, and it becomes acceptable to take those rights away. We cannot do that!

Another point of interest . . . On Foxnews.com, there is a "meter" on which it shows how many republican or democratic congresspersons etc. are in office after this election. Since Foxnews.com is not working currently, I can't give actual numbers, but I can say that as of about 8:45 this morning, Republicans held the majority of the seats. This even goes down to governors! How exciting is that! God has been working in this election, and I hope and pray that the most powerful person in the country remains President George W. Bush.
