About my Personal Boot Camp
My roommate and I went to Wal-Mart today.
She later told me that it was retail therapy. She got an iPod.
Perhaps the reason I'm in such an emotional upheaval is because I have not had funds to participate in this thing called "retail therapy" for ages. Like, ever.
Or, perhaps it's not.
We were on our way to the sock department when for some reason, my roommate said, "I love you, MJ."
I looked at her quizzically and said, "I love you too.... although living with you is kind of like being in emotional boot camp."
She laughed and I said, "that's not a bad thing -- it's actually probably good for me."
She said, "You aren't quite sure about the truth of that statement, are you?" No, really not.
My roommate is awesome -- but she knows more about me than I do (honestly, I'm not even kidding) and sometimes she tells me things about myself that I hate and I'm like, "DON'T! Leave me alone!" But she doesn't leave me alone. It doesn't make me mad at her -- honestly, even though some of the things she tells me are hard to hear, I know that she tells me because she sees something good behind all the garbage and she wants to bring the good stuff forward. She tells me because the garbage can't be taken out if I can't smell it and know that it needs to be dealt with.
So it's been interesting. It can be so very difficult sometimes, but I am so thankful to God that He allowed me to live with my wonderful friend and her family. I don't think I'm going to be much like I am today when I leave this place.
